How to Watch for Free — Step by Step
Follow these steps to catch the biggest matches without paying
Check the official broadcaster in your country
Broadcasting rights vary by country. The tables above show which channel holds rights in major markets. Search "[league name] broadcaster [your country]" for the most up-to-date info.
Look for free-to-air TV first
Many countries mandate that at least one major match per week is shown on a free public channel. In the UK that's BBC/ITV; in Morocco it's Arryadia; in Saudi Arabia it's SSC.
Use the official broadcaster's app or website
Most sports channels offer a free live stream on their website or app alongside their subscription tier — often for select matches. Always use the official source.

Understanding Football Broadcasting Rights
Everything you need to know about who shows what and why
How broadcasting rights work
Football leagues sell their television rights to broadcasters in each country separately. This means the same Premier League match may be shown by different channels in different countries — Sky Sports in the UK, beIN Sports in the Middle East, and DAZN in Spain, for example. Rights deals typically run for three to four years and are auctioned to the highest bidder, which is why rights holders change from season to season. Fans following the same club from different countries may be watching on completely different platforms.
Free-to-air obligations
Several countries require by law that certain major sporting events — known as "listed events" or "crown jewel" events — must be shown on free-to-air television accessible to the whole population. In the United Kingdom this includes the FA Cup final, the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championship. In France, at least one match per round of the top division must be offered to a free channel. In Morocco, the CAF Africa Cup of Nations and the Botola Pro are partly covered by Arryadia (Al Aoula Sport) free of charge. Always check your local broadcasting regulations to know what you are entitled to watch for free.
Official apps and websites
Most major broadcasters now offer a streaming app or website alongside their traditional television channel. Some of these are completely free with no subscription required — for example, BBC iPlayer (UK residents), RTBF Auvio (Belgium), France Télévisions (France), SSC (Saudi Arabia) and Arryadia (Morocco). Others require a cable or satellite subscription to log in. Always use the official broadcaster's own platform to ensure you are watching legally and getting the best quality stream.
Free Football Streaming by Region
A continent-by-continent overview of where to watch without paying
🌍 Africa and Middle East
The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is dominated by beIN Sports, which holds rights to most major European leagues. However, several free alternatives exist. In Saudi Arabia, SSC Sport (Saudi Sports Company) broadcasts the Saudi Pro League and selected international fixtures for free on satellite (Arabsat and Nilesat). In Morocco, Arryadia — الأولى سبور broadcasts the Botola Pro, the Throne Cup, and selected CAF competitions free on terrestrial TV. In Egypt, ON Time Sports covers the Egyptian Premier League on free satellite. Al-Kass Sports Channels from Qatar air select FIFA tournaments without subscription in some MENA markets.
🇪🇺 Europe
Europe has a rich tradition of free-to-air football. In the United Kingdom, BBC Sport and ITV cover the FA Cup (including the final), major England national team games, the UEFA European Championship and the FIFA World Cup. In France, M6 and TF1 share rights to key Ligue 1 matches and the French national team; W9 often carries Champions League highlights. In Germany, ARD and ZDF are obligated to show the FIFA World Cup and European Championship; Sat.1 covers the DFB-Pokal (German Cup). In Spain, RTVE covers the Copa del Rey final and selected national team matches. In Italy, RAI covers Serie A highlights and Coppa Italia. In Portugal, RTP covers the Taça de Portugal and national team games. The key principle across Europe: national and continental tournament finals are almost always available on free channels.
🌎 Americas
In the United States, CBS Sports Golazo Network streams selected UEFA Champions League matches completely free on streaming (no cable subscription needed), and Fox's Tubi offers some football content. In Brazil, Globo holds exclusive free-to-air rights to the Copa do Brasil and covers the Campeonato Brasileiro; SporTV is the pay cable offering from the same group. In Argentina, TyC Sports and TV Pública share rights to the Argentine Primera División, with some matches free on TV Pública. In Mexico, TV Azteca and Televisa (Canal de las Estrellas) carry Liga MX games alongside paid cable options.
🌏 Asia and Oceania
In Japan, NHK airs selected J-League matches and national team games on its free public channel. Fuji TV and TV Tokyo cover select European competitions. In South Korea, SBS, KBS and MBC free channels cover K League and national team matches. In Australia, Network 10 (Paramount+) and SBS cover the A-League and selected FIFA events; the Socceroos' World Cup qualifiers are typically on free SBS. In India, Sports18 is the main carrier for most European football, but the free digital platform JioTV streams some sports content to Jio subscribers at no additional cost.

⚠️ Avoid illegal streaming sites

Stick to the official sources listed on this page and on YOBO TV's match pages — it is always free and always safe.
